With tremendous sorrow and sadness we share that Marc Ullman, a Managing Partner at Meridian, passed away on May 6, 2021. We remain humbled by the kindness, compassion and enthusiasm he shared with everyone around him.
Marc made an immediate impact on our firm and the Meridian community when he joined us in 2013. He exemplified the personal traits and corporate culture we have always aspired to: outstanding client service, team focus, personal integrity and selflessness. His positive nature, ability to connect so well with so many people, and his unstoppable optimism about the future, made it easy for our partners to elect him as our next Managing Partner late last year.
Marc earned a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Behavior from Columbia University, and became a Principal and Director in Executive Compensation over a 16 year career at the predecessor firms of Willis Towers Watson, in both New York City and Toronto. At Meridian, he established and grew our New York City office, and later assumed responsibility over associates across our entire northeast region. Marc played a strong role in doubling the size of our firm during his tenure, as many prospective candidates and clients cited the opportunity to work with Marc as a primary reason to join or engage Meridian. In late 2020, our partners elected Marc to become only our third Managing Partner since we established the firm in 2010.
Marc envisioned exceptional growth and success for our firm, and more importantly for the many associates who saw Marc as a valued role model and mentor. Marc became a trusted advisor to board members and management teams at many prominent public companies. He leaves behind a tremendous void that our partners and associates remain committed to fill, as he would expect us to do.
Our thoughts, prayers and committed support go out to Marc’s wife and two children. Marc adored his family, and nothing made him happier than to share with anyone who would listen how much pride and love he had for them.
