Kate Wharton

Kate has been practicing in the executive compensation field for over seven years. She has experience advising on a broad range of executive compensation matters, including short and long-term incentive plan design, peer group development and validation, competitive benchmarking for executives and outside directors, and research and analysis of compensation practices and trends.

Prior to joining Meridian, Kate practiced as a global executive compensation lawyer at Baker McKenzie in Chicago. At Baker McKenzie, she advised clients on the regulatory and tax considerations related to the offer of equity compensation outside the United States. Kate has significant experience counseling clients on non-U.S. equity compensation issues that arise as a result of corporate transactions and has published articles addressing such issues.

She has a B.A. from the University of Michigan, J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and an LL.M. in taxation (with honors) from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
